International Festival of Police Orchestras and Choirs

2nd June - 5th June 2011

PRAGUE - KARLOVY VARY - MARIÁNSKÉ LÁZNE - CESKÝ KRUMLOV

Police Orchestras and Choirs will perform publicly in concert halls, gardens and on the largest squares of the city. They will also take part in performing at the Prague Castle concert, parade in the city centre with a final concert on the Old Town Square. The National Museum will host the closing ceremony in its spectacular historical building.

For participants there is a chance to have a concert in well-known spa Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázne, in Ceský Krumlov - colourful medieval town - and in other interesting places of Czech Republic.

The festival organiser is The Band of the Castle Guards and Police of the Czech Republic in cooperation with our agency Bohemia Ticket Prague under the patronage of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Přemysl Sobotka and the Police President of Czech Republic Oldřich Martinů.

Festival Programme

2nd June Thursday

arrival of participants 18.00 - reception of conductors and representatives of the orchestras and choirs by the mayor of the Town Hall of Prague. Other members of the ensembles will have the opportunity to see cultural performances, restaurants, folklore evening etc. of their choice

3rd June Friday

Morning - guided city tour of Prague in groups 11,30 - Reception of choir representatives at the Police President 15.00 - Wallenstein Garden - opening ceremony under the patronage of the chairman of the Senate of the Czech Parliament, public concerts of festival ensembles in the garden Evening - Vltava river cruise with buffet dinner and music (2hrs) - optional

4th June Saturday

10.00 - joint concert of participants in the garden of Prague Castle Na Valech Afternoon - parade of all orchestras and choirs through the city of Prague - Old Town Square - Final joint concert of all ensembles 20:00 - festival final evening of the festival with awording ceremony buffet style dinner, dancing and singing

5th June Sunday

Departure (Chance of individual concerts on request)

Your staying in Czech Republic can be prolonged on individual request. On Wednesday 1st (on the way to Prague) on Sunday 5th (on the way home) or in other days - according to your wish - we can offer you an arrangement of individual concerts in well-known Czech towns.
