The performance of Laterna magika Theatre was prepared on the occasion of Summer Olympic Games in Greece. The legend of Argonauts belongs to the most ancient Greek myths and anticipates the origin of the Olympic tradition. The story depicts the quest of Jason and his brave companions for the Golden Fleece to the distant Colchis. During their journey, the Argonauts meet the female inhabitants at the island of Lemnos, defeat the king Amykos, liberate the blind Phineus from the curse of harpies and go through many other adventures before Jason finally meets Medea who helps him to get the Golden Fleece. The triumphant arrival to the native Iolkos and the takeover of the throne brings to Jason the contented conclusion of the quest and helps him to meet his fatal love.
The world premiere of the performance took place on August 8, 2004 in the Greek town of Volos.
